The 2nd Gamakatsu Elite Series event of 2016 was held on April 2-3rd at Forster, one of our home waterways. Hometown advantage definitely paid off for us taking out first prize and a nice pay cheque. Following is a brief rundown of how it all went down.

The 2nd Northern Round of the Gamakatsu Team Series has been run and won on an ever difficult Tweed River bite.
Practice: Only having visited the Tweed once before we decided to spend Friday and Saturday on the water to work out what the fish were doing and where the quality bites may come from. Fishing your home water way is always exciting as you are aware of the potential; it also makes you second guess your game plan as there are so many options. However sometimes it all comes together for a great result as it did in the last round at South West Rocks where we came away with the win so the pressure was definitely on to perform.

The Macleay River serves up coloured water and potentially trying conditions for Round 2 of the Gamakatsu Team Series, Mid Region. 1st Feb 2015. With only one other event run during winter last year, the Macleay is still a relatively new arena for most anglers including ourselves.
