What is your favourite fishing method and why? Skipping a weedless topwater frog deep into some nasty bass country, waiting for an explosion and then hoping for the best.
Where is your favourite place to fish? Way up the Manning in my little tinny crashing through the rapids chasing the Aussie Bass. If you don’t break something on one of these trips it wasn’t a good one.
What is your most memorable moment? Jigging 15kg+ kingfish in 90 meters of water with Lord Howe Island as the backdrop.
Who has had the biggest influence on the way you fish? Probably my old man Bill, he taught me the tricks of the trade from a early age. How to catch pody mullet, butter prawns and pump yabbies, then where and how to fish them for best results. I think learning how and where bait lives is vital for any tournament angler. When it comes to tournament fishing I admire the passion of US bass Pro Mike Iaconelli, he’s a bit nuts but loves his fishing and never gives up!
If you had to choose only one species of fish to target for the rest of your life what would it be and why? If I was locked into NSW it would be the Aussie bass, I love these things especially on topwater. They just explode and pack a lot of punch for their size. The pristine habitat in which they live also makes the experience special.
What is your favourite fishing outfit? Probably my Daiwa SOL2 ULFS matched to a Daiwa Luvias 2500 reel. With 10 pound braid its so versatile. Handles any Bream or bass with ease and has done many snapper trips in the past. Just a really nice combo which I don’t think I could ever trade in.

Who has had the biggest influence on the way you fish? My late Grandfather Roy Single. He was a master fisherman & a true inspiration to my fishing passion.
If you had to choose only one species of fish to target for the rest of your life what would it be and why? I would have to say bass especially if it was summer all year round. nothing beats the bone rattling topwater strike of a bass in the wild.
What is your favourite fishing outfit? Shimano Nano rod about 3-5kg with a Shimano Sradic Ci4 & a locked drag loaded up with a big cranky Bream or Bass on the end.
